If I remember correctly 6 months from your application date.

I don't think it will help with a screenshot. If you bug them enough they might be nice and give you 5k as a goodwill.

Send them a secure message.

I got no where with an SM can I still try to call, do they have records of the SMs that they sent me, or should I play dumb and say that I had no idea that I was not eligible for the bonus

I left my SPG # blank on the app. Do I SM to have it added? Or do I get a different # provided by them and merge it later once I get the bonus?

Is it possible to merge SPG Numbers? And would that also be the case if you had an SPG number and your spouse has a different number, could they merge those accounts as well?

On a sidenote, would this work for other hotel/airline member numbers?

Bump.

Same issue here (had an SPG, applied for new one with blank and got assigned a new number, met spend requirement, waited 2 months, but no bonus points awarded).   When I called, they saw my previous cards, quoted "the 12 month rule" and said "no soup for you".

Any advice on what to say when I call/write again?

Sorry, just found this thread...http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=19144.0 .

So it seems the smart move is to close the (no bonus producing) card right away to start the clock again.     Anyone have any luck getting some sympathy points?  (Sorry to ask but the searches and an hour of reading produced nothing for me on this....)

Just got the 30K for the consumer SPG card. I got it before I spent 5k on the card. The description for the 20K was SPG AX LIMITED TIME OFFER instead of CONSUMER which it says by the 10K.

spg personal and business
« Reply #289 on: December 21, 2012, 11:57:24 AM »
hi all,

recently i opened up an spg business account. i already have a regular spg card. when looking at my points both cards reveal the same amount. does this mean i won't be getting the business start up bonus points? i should preface that i opened this card less than a month ago, although i have already spent some money on it.

thanks a bunch :)

you can ask them if they can downgrade it to another credit card(I don't think they can change it to a charge card) please post what they offer.

That's the reply i got today  from AMEX:

I see that you can transfer your card to the following fee free cards:

- American Express SimplyCash Business Card
- Blue from Business

Does anybody have a suggestion which one to go for?

Why not keep it for retention, SBS?

Does it make any sense to close this card and open a new Business Blue card to get the 10k welcome bonus points or just change my amex spg to it and not make the welcome bonus points.? Does closing a card ruin credit score?

i got the 30k SPG offer in september and have almost reached the 5k threshold, however the 10k points after first $1 never posted...should i be worried?
the card was part of a 3bm, delta & PRG whose bonuses already posted, and were my first 3 amex cards ever...
