I'm looking to cancel and avoid annual fee. Rep told me to transfer cl account must be open 13 months. I assume this is not true - any confirmation here? (I'll huca anyway)
Also anyone know what the current amount that must be left in account is?  - got a couple different answers while being tranfered around
I transferred a 3 month old line. SPG.

Can someone please clarify for me the best route I can/should take to get most points out of this 30k offer?

I have a spg business card for over a year now...
1- Can I get the bonus under same spg number for personal ?
2- Did I understand correctly that I can get another business AND personal with a new spg number under dif address?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks!
I'm not sure if this is right place to ask (so if wrong please point me in right direction)...
I have been fighting Alitalia for a ticket refund for past six months on a ticket I bought with spg , and just email confirmation that they "refunded" my spg card- the problem is its Ben a few days and don't see any credit to my account...
1-How long does this usually take (after receiving email from them)?
2-And how does it work with the card?
I don't really use it anymore, so will they send me a check with refund?
3-Can I cancel the card before it is officially credited? - my yearly fee just came up!

So I just got my new SPG cards in the mail over Shabbos and I'm off to meet 5k spend in 6 months.
The T&C state clearly that you can't get points for buying gift cards. In reality, what has been people's experience? Can you meet the minimum spend with VRs at CVS? I currently have a ticking clock to meet spend on multiple Citi AA cards which I rely heavily upon VRs to meet. Is it consensus that this doesn't work so well with Amex cards?

No such consensus exists. The most you have to worry about is an FR.

Then how do people get shut down or banned by Amex? That has definitely happened to people of these forums. What did they do (so I don't do it)?

Wow.  This is like the 10th time this question has been asked in 4 days .

Yes,  gc's work for spending requirements.  Yes there is a risk of FR.

They get shut down if they can't pass an FR. Please resort to this thread for more info. As to your original question, yes, buying GCs/VRs in stores does count towards your spending threshold. Just be wary of an FR for any irregular spending.

i think i made a mistake when applying for spg. i have other amex cards and didn't apply in "incagnito" mode. It said that existing amex customers don't qualify for this promotion even though i don't have a spg card with them. Thoughts?

BTW when I saw that message I started a new application without using the application shortcut and took a screenshot of the offer where it clearly says that you get the offer unless you had a spg card within the last 12 months. so we'll see

Sorry - Your situation sounds somewhat different.  Starwood customer service was able to find the new Starpoints account and merge it by searching for accounts with my email address attached.

I had applied to SPG personal and ws only given 10000 point signup bonus. Complained a few times by phone and PM, now:

Update: They said I signed up for the 10000 point program. They told me to send a fax with the information and screenshot. Does anyone have a screenshot from the 25000 offer? Or, HUCA?

You should get the other 15k after you spend $5k. That usually takes an extra billing cycle after you have fully paid off the balance.

They said I signed up for the 10000 offer. This doesn't matter? Was there even a 10k offer?

Does anyone have a 25k screenshot?
