if you always want an SPG and are married, you can stagger SPG reg and biz between you and your wife so you have 4 cards to play with
ye but if married then you use more points and then need more points...

IIRC very soon after - if I want sooner, sometimes I pay in advance, I think they show up faster

Is there a annual spending limit on the SPG that gives you upgraded status?
I am not 100% sure about this. But I am going to click it anyway.

maybe but does that get your account to post the actual 10 stays for gold and then only 15 more stays for platinum? (or do you need to earn all 25? For the new year 2014, i'm at 4 stays so far)

you get 5 days towards status when you open the SPG card. when you get a courtesy upgrade you don't get any more days

I find myself with a problem and I was wondering if anyone has any advice.

My wife and I got the SPG card during the 30K period this summer, one day apart but both within the promo period.  We enrolled on the website directly.  We both got our 10K after the first purchase and my wife got her 20K after hitting $5K spent, but I didn't.  I hadn't had the card within 12 months and there seems to be no other issues that may affect my standing.  I have spoken to Amex many many times about this and every time i eventually get them to see that I should have it and don't..  I have had several managers open "inquiries" on the issue and the latest one was answered by AMEX saying I was eligible for 10K after my first purchase and i got it.. case closed.  This completely missed the part that i should be eligible for the other bonus..

I can't seem to get anywhere with them on this.  I always ask how could I NOT be eligible for a second bonus (even 15K) as its advertised on their website for all applicants??

Any thoughts of ideas would be helpful

Do you have a screenshot of the offer you signed up for?

Is there a possibility some of your spending was considered a cash advance?

I don't think so. Even if some of it was, I have long since doubled and tripled the 5K spending on definite qualifying purchases.

my starwood AF is coming up. what do most folks here do? i dont really use the card.
i also have PRG AF coming up.
i am not ready for any AOR to use them as leverage..
I just downgraded my SPG to a blue cash (Now I have 2 blue cash).

and canceled my PRG.
