Potentially, yes.

And how much is considered a ton? 10k per month. 20? Also, the reason I ask in this thread is I want to know if they're more strict with this card?

Does it make sense to downgrade Amex SPG card to the blue cash card?

@Agasdf88

Me too. Best I could get them to do after a ton of phone calls was offer me 3k SPG points.

One thing I noticed every time I called is they first would ask me for the promo code. Being that I applied through a link from this site I didn't have a code, but eventually I was able to figure out what the code was on my wife's app. Maybe next time they ask I'll just give them that code, but I doubt it'll work.

Only thing I can think of is something going wrong with the cache, but I'm pretty sure I remember applying for the cards on separate computers. One way or another, I take screen shots of every app now.

Weird!  I posted this earlier and someone replied to it, but they were deleted off of this thread: Any promos higher than 25k SP that's currently being given?  Someone answered about an extra 5k SP.  Did I do something wrong?

There is no extra 5k.
25k is the best current sign up offer.

I applied for the spg card eventhough I already had a spg card that I got 5 years ago. I already hit the needed spending. I thought it would squeeze through to get the signup bonus bec I hadnt got the bonus in so many yrs. I only got the 25k pts signup 5 yrs ago and they dont want to give it to me again. Is there any chance of getting them to give it to me? I have a good history with them with pretty decent spending and not much churning. Has anyone been successful with HUCA?
Thanks

Did you cancel old card or did you apply with same spg card , sounds like you have "exact "same card -- if did not cancel card b4 you applied think very small chance will get  25k -- did you get 10k for first spend on new card ?

think it will be up hill all the way and you may not reach the top--- but you have nothing to lose to write a  e/m to the president of amx and plead your case -- if it were me --I would send a letter by snail mail --

not  to criticize -- you need to read the t/c when u apply ---amex is very clear on who can not get a bonus -- and on top of that they have some very open ended wording that allows them to reject for almost any reason -- like said not a thing to lose by contacting the pres.  -

stay on dans and read read read

They always have fine print that says they can  deny bonus for any reason if your an amex client already. And yes I did see that if you had the spg card its also an exclusion, however I saw many people (dan included) that said they got multiple signup bonuses for spg so I figured it wasnt a hard policy. Now I am starting to figure they are doing business cards not consumer.

I think it would be wise to follow the amex t/c -- they have changed  and are "watching" and give nothing away  that they do not need to

want to stay out of trouble-- dan is unlike anyone  else -- he is treated different than us ordinary mortals ----- he can do what no other can --loves to reply with as few words as possible so hard to figure out "how" he does it

and sometimes people on dans confuse -- when u read u think they are speaking for them self later you find out the are doing that 2nd card for a brother -mother -friend
