Its a hit or miss, I personally wouldn't spend too much time on it, as there aren't many reports of Amex matching.

Is any one approach to getting matched better than another?  Like SM vs. calling CS? My daughter just got the card 1 month ago, the standard offer.

Considering that the standard offer is 15k thousand bonus for spending $5000 and the new offer is 20k for spending $5000 they really dont see what the big difference is.

Although Amex doesn't match offers to quick if your "really" disappointed that you cant get matched you have a nice chance of getting some complimentary points posted to your account.

I made that same calculation while applying for my SPG. Nothing to lose.

There's always the possibility I guess but AFAIK it doesn't really go higher than 30k, usually once a year...i could be wrong

I think even with a business card you can't refer another business.
