I’m looking for a one color printer, Which printer ink is the cheapest? Because I figure that out by now that even buying a cheap printer if ink is expensive you end up paying expensive.

Did you try buying non brand ink? Been doing that for a long time and been satisfied

Laser toner is always cheaper (but might not be the same suitable for everything.)

The next best is the models (I think every company has) that come with a lot of Ink. Epson has the EcoTank line that the ink comes in big refiller bottles.

Are you sure that the ecotanks are more expensive per page than a laser? I thought they were cheaper...

Not sure, that was my first impression (specifically when using generic laser toner.)

But the Epson EcoTank refills don't list an official average yield as far as I saw, so it's difficult to compare.

How is that one vs the ddms one? https://www.dansdeals.com/shopping-deals/amazon/canon-imageclass-monochrome-wireless-laser-printer-79-99-shipped-amazon/
(Besides the point that I'm not not sure the durability and quality of those cheap Canons.) That one doesn't have duplex, has a lower capacity tray, and is slower.

A couple of years ago, after buying cheap printers for a while and then needing to replace them and spend a lot on ink, I bought what seemed like a good one at Costco, with a lot of ink https://www.costco.com/epson-ecotank-2760-special-edition-all-in-one-printer-with-bonus-black-ink.product.100504185.html.
After not too long, it just stopped working, and I think Costco doesn't accept returns on electronics. I tried googling to fix it, but haven't been able to. Seems like I should go back to my old philosophy and get something like this (https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-DeskJet-2742e-Wireless-Color-All-in-One-Inkjet-Printer-Green-Matcha-with-6-months-Instant-Ink-Included-with-HP/525187141?athbdg=L1600&from=/search) and when it breaks, get another one. Any advice?
