I am a dentist. (I don't practice much general dentistry anymore)
I still have that question. What was he drilling, I'm not sure. I do remember his using his drill. Perhaps he was pretending? As far as what did he fill, all teeth have some sort of indent downwards which something small can be placed inside.. I guess that's why it fell out? Since it wasn't deep enough?
Sounds like you have multiple
abfraction lesions. chalukai daios when those should be filled. if they are filled it requires minimal drilling. These DO NOT show up on the x-ray. Personally, I only would fill if the patient had symptoms like sensitivity or if there is decay.
If this is actually the case, I'm more disturbed by the second dentist throwing the first guy under the bus than the first dentist filling them.
Again, without any actual clinical data it's hard to know the true narrative but it is interesting to hear the hamon am's perspective.
