Anyone have an eitzah for place to get affordable but soft twin sized bedding.  We found alot of nice full-king and Macys Hotel Collection has some twin but the cost is like 150 for a comforter cover and 50-100 for a pillow sham.  Any ideas are appreciated (and yes I am a bit embarresed to now use the word pillow sham in my everyday conversation).

What my mother has always done is to take regular sheet sets (which you can find in twin in abundance, and at low prices) and sew the 2 flat sheets together into a comforter cover. There are people who will do this for a fee, maybe $15-20 per bed. You can really put together a nice bedding set this way, especially if you find 2 different sets that go nicely together.

For example, you could put the 'taupe' from here together with the 'wheat' from here. That's $30+$35+say $15 for sewing them together for a total of $80 per bed. It's not the best stuff, but you can leave the 400 thread ct (the solid one) on the inside and for the fitted sheet.

You can also look for individually sold flat sheets as an alternative to buying a full 2nd set. Point is, if you can find someone that does the sewing, it greatly expands the possibilities.

+1

And yes it's harder to find nice Twin size bedding. Did you try Bed Bath and Beyond? Are you specifically looking for comforter cover?

Thank you all for the suggestions - we are looking for comforter covers -based on my wife's demands.  Dan, we actually registered for a Wamsutta at BBB -we were assuming it wouldn't be comfy like the hotel collection but are we mistakrn?

I was at Ikea not long ago and I remember seeing a big selection of bedding.
I think comforter covers were $40 although I can be mistaken and no clue about the quality.

Ikea...quality.
Generally an oxymoron.

You're right, although I was pretty surprised at some of the stuff I saw.
Also, I did feel their bedding and it didn't feel "cheap" or rough at all, although I'm sure it's light years away from the Wasmutta.

Any sets that come with sheets as well? Or only duvet and pillow covers?

She buys from a store that always sells the set but ripoff and whenever she sees a duvet cover she likes it's always hard for her to find matching sheets for it.

depends on the duvet cover, u can match anything to plain sheets... ive seen a bunch when i was searchin thru pottery barn. i cant imagine their very cheap... but im sure u can find anywhere. and dont buy until u have it all matched up!
