Effective 04/09:
Lie-flat 777 ships: 1, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18.
Old seat ships: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 19, and 20.

Ship 16's first flight will be 04/09: HKG-EWR.

Ship 2 is being converted now.
so half of the aircrafts are still the old seats. The old ones are not lie flat? are they still decent seats compared to European cariers?

Maybe some inverted cravings ?

I never really had problems with them, but the service was %#@ç§

I agree with you 100% on the service. Id fly another airline any day just to avoid US service. They were so incredibly rude!

So at this rate we should be all done in less then a year?

The only benefit that US Air had over CO to TLV will be no more.

Thanks

Not true I much prefer USs lie-flat over COs, and I have flown both of them in the lie-flats, only CO is beter with their service and food, but the seat is much more important to me

What was better about the seat on US Airways over Continental?

1st Privacy US is like a ^ while CO is // at least in the middle section where I always sit. By the windows its a single seat

The seat itself was better padded and leather which can be a pro or con

 US is 6'4" - 6'8" CO is 6'2" - 6'6" when its a bed in length

I liked the idea that the screen is tucked away and not directly fixed in front of me others might like it the way CO has it. (Tucked away as in its on a bar and swings from side to side and not in the arm rest)

Big seats important for me too. I'm a BIG MAN.

So if I go with the wife on US, I would have to sit in middle to get 2 seats together. Is privacy very much compromised when sitting in middle aisle (as opposed to window that you're somehat blocked off)?

put it this way when I wanted to speak to the guy sitting next to me we both had to lean over to see each other :-))) due to the ^ configure. But honestly how long on a night time flight will you be talking to your wife

then again its a Great excuse why you arent always talking to her LoL

The US seat might be better, but you'll have to actually fly US  :P

The CO seat has been getting great reviews, and personally leather (like US has) is NOT comfortable to sleep in, cloth (like CO has) is much better IMHO.

For regular domestic First leather is nice, but for lie-flat sleeping, not so much.

look at it like your review of J grill on teh other thread where you say the place is Thumbs Down, but you actually liked the limited items on the new Chinese menu.

So in General US is bad but hey their Chinese menu (flight to TLV) is excellent in some ways and a person can even earn EQMs and RDMs on UA or CO at the same time

Bout the neg for me was their flight times, they leave PHL @ 9:15pm and leave TLV at 11:55pm. I prefer COs 84 & 85 flight times 4pm from EWR and 11am out of TLV (CO also has their 2nd daily flight that correspond sto USs times)

According to this A.net thread CO will be getting 2 brand new 772's next week with lie-flats installed.

Assuming that's correct and that the ships will be numbers 21 and 22...

Effective 07/21:
Lie-flat 777 ships (13): 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, and 22
Old seat ships (9): 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 19, and 20.
Chance of getting a lie-flat aircraft: 59%

It is unknown if there are any 772's in the shop right now.

Only LHR flights are guarenteed to be lie-flat.
Otherwise check 2 days prior to your flight for your ship number on pda.continental.com

Twice I checked 1-2 days before on the pda site and both times the plane # changed, once for the better and once for the worse.
