How did you find it? I find it a little small...
I rented it to pick someone up from the airport really didn't drive it that much. Turns were pretty good though.

Yup, it does drive nice.

Worth renting a whole day to pick someone up from the airport?

ETA: Ahhh ;)

How's that for pulling this OT.  ::) I'm sure DD status allows for it.

I rented midsize hoping for mini suv or minivan. went to local place. they told me they have nothing in my reservation about Upgrade bec its dependant on availability. the best they could do was a premium car. same story by other local avis. so i went to hertz where they had a mini suv available. (i had made 3 reservations)
So dont count on getting 8 seaters for sure

I got one this morning from hertz ewr I only drove it to Monsey but it drove pretty nicely
(when I was leaving the gate agent told me his manager doesn't let under 21 bigger than a full size, I told him I'm presidents circle and I reserved a premium so they can jump in a lake-the guy called his manager who told him to let me go)
@OP I would say your best bet is national although IIRC they take some time to status match as opposed to Hertz which only takes a couple of hours

To summarize, I absolutely must have a 8 seater at a minimum. I booked an intermediate car with Avis, Hertz and National.

I already have Pres status with Avis and Herz. My match still didn't go through with National.

Can I rely on these to get the necessary upgrade?

Should I also make another reservation that's within the 2 categories for my upgrade just in case? Or would they catch it and try to force me into this one.

Not 8 seater. A lot of their minivans are 7 seaters. But I've gotten a 7 seater traverse from Avis with PC

So what should I reserve to hope for an 8+ seater?

Enterprise will usually let you take a sienna (8 seater) with a minivan reservation if they have one in stock (i saw few times sienna's at enterprise).

With chabad code its $320/week IIRC.

At National the sienna is classified as a "premium minivan" and it’s priced much higher than the standard minivan (Dodge/Chrysler/Kia/Nissan)

when i called enterprise, they told me they only have minivans with 7 seats, no 8 seats

When I "was" at enterprise-jfk they told me they only have minivans with 7 seats, no 8 seats, so i pointed on a sienna which was sitting on the return lot, and I took that.

I know they don't have 8-seater minivans as a reservable model, but they do keep them in stock.
