Worse. At least in my neighborhood. I've heard others complain as well

In the US if you pay for 10mbps that's up to 10mbps.
You may get 1.5, you may get 10.

I had DSL 7mbps and only got 3mbps.
Now I have Cable 7mbps with turbo-boost and typically get 18mbps.

Unless you're in an area where the cable companies are oversubscribed, you'll have a better experience with cable than with DSL.

+1.
My parents are in an area where everyone has cable and during peak times it literally slows to a crawl.

Also its worth to subscribe to a turbo or boost plan (besides the obvious reason of higher speeds) since your are placed on different frequency than regular subscribers.

Especially when you negotiate to get it for free :)

I'm quite happy paying $29.95 for 15-20mbps down.
I just wish the upload speeds were better than 512kbps.

that doesnt have anything to do with the difference between dsl and cable. for example, if i were to get a 10mb dsl plan with netvision and so does someone else in my building, we share the 10. however if we both got the dsl from bezeqint, we would each get our own 10mb. it has to do with the provider

care to elaborate what you mean by "better experience"?

I don't run speedtests at home, but I've never had complaints/issues.

I have optimum with boost at work, here are results for the speedtest I just ran

Technically you're right. Reality is that cable is usually less over-subscribed when compared to DSL.

When you buy DSL in the US you can expect to get less than the advertised rate. When you buy cable, you can expect to get at least what you're paying for.
