I have a hold on an AA tik until Monday evening. My account is 25k lacking, so I transferred over 20k SPG around 4 days ago. but it hasn't posted yet.
I'd be willing to buy the miles at their inflated rate, but the site says that can take up to 72 hours to credit.
I could transfer from a different account, but that could also take time.

Any advice? Any chance that they would extend my hold until the miles post? Any other suggestions to get the miles?

IIRC, SPG-AA transfers often go through on Monday. So you should just make it...

Any idea what time? Being in Israel, I have till 7am my time Tuesday morning, but would prefer to not have to wake up at 3 in the morning to check if they posted.

Being in Israel as well, I know exactly what you mean.

I don't know the exact timing, as I have never done it personally. I remember reading about it somewhere here on the forums. Seek, and you shall find.

I'm seeing contradictory info on the thread.
Some said that its the other airlines that do it Monday, others assumed it's Monday.

Either way, I may still be stuck up a creek come Monday night.

Once you purchase miles they can issue the ticket if you give them the reference number, even though it hasn't hit your account yet. Most reps know about that, if it doesn't work, ask for a supervisor.

Reference number of SPG transfer? Is that a number SPG sent me?

I was referring to the purchase miles reference number which they can actually see. Doubted SPG will work for that.

I just did a ticket through aa on El al
and I had the same problem
I kept on calling aa and they renewed the booking which started the 5 day hold again
I did it 3 or 4 times

I just transfered SPG to AA last week monday afternoon and by thurs. they were in my AA account.

I found a family member willing to let me use his account till my miles post.

Anyone know if they will give me a problem if I book 1 tik under my AA account, and the second under his?
What info do I need to use s/o else's AA #? I have the number and password. Do I need DOB as well?

I called AA and explained that I transferred the points and they gave me an extension. I did this a few times and it worked.

Did you need to speak to a supervisor? Which number did you call, reservations or cs?

Reservations should do that, but they'll only do that if there is still seats available, so they can replace them safely, otherwise they have to cancel and reissue.

But if there is n/t available, and they cancel, there is no guarantee that they will be able to reissue.
Also, anyone know if I have the 2 tix booked with 1 hold, if they can split up the cost, 1 tik for 2 AA accounts?
