I sent a complaint to UA that they canceled my tix w/o informing me.
They responded and didn't address that issue, just that they kept my ticket that was booked w/ miles b/c the proper number of miles was deducted.
I found it interesting to receive that response, b/c they deducted 210k for 4 first class tix. That is much lower than they are supposed to go for.
At least I have that in writing, so that when I try to change the dates, maybe it'll hold me in good stead.

so i guess since no one heard anything new we can all assume that they are not going to honor anything and not give any compensation? o well so much for going to hong kong just because it was almost free

I know at least one person who was offered something, but I've been asked not to discuss it unfortunately.

I know of one person that booked it for business and he had to go anyways, they offered him the lowest paid economy fair and upgraded him to First. Not to special, but was worth it for him.

I wonder how they'll calculate his miles (and EQMs) for that fare.

Looking for advice. As I've written already, they have thus far honored one set of my tix despite not having all the miles deducted from my account. The problem is, the dating doesn't work for me, and I will have to pay my own way to go from TLV to HKG since those tix weren't honored. Therefore, I'll only use these tix if I need to go into the US due to a wedding or s/t similar.

So my questions are:
1) What are pros/cons to waiting to try and change the ticket dates, vs calling now and ensuring they can be moved without them catching the problem?
2) Is there a limit to how many times I can change the dates? Can I keep on deferring the tix for 12+ months?
3) If they tell me that the proper miles weren't deducted, and they will cancel the tickets, will the email they sent me confirming that the proper miles were used help me whatsoever?

Tickets booked via the phone have a strong chance of being honored. If you booked via the internet, chances are less likely.

Beyond that, a voucher is under discussion. (how much or what type I have no idea).

Received this email today from United. I did not contact them in regards to the tickets.

I got that same email back on July 28th. I was wondering if other people got it too. I actually think my complaint to the DOT was shared with United and this was in response to that. Did you file a complaint with the DOT?
