i highly doubt you'll have problems. i would suggest tho not saying any other specific details about your flight times or number or airline or anything.
i don't think united would take any action against anyone already midflight before contacting a team of their lawyers, marketing directors, customer service managers etc etc.
these things will take more then 24hrs to do. in the meantime they have only blocked us from booking the flight.
they are probably being bombarded right now as well by people who got charged the full amount of miles! demanding them back. as well they are desperately trying to fix their systems to allow bookings to and via hongkong - and erase that glitch. these things NEVER end fast. they get halted quick, but thats just the beggining from what i've seen.
there will probably be people flying next year on these tickets because they were overloked who knows, but from what it looks like your coming back first class for the remaining 2 miles! :

I agree %100 I'd do it too. I just would probably look for more of an experience in the short time there. Sthing more Asian maybe, I dunno. For grilled food and fake stuff u can catch a bite to eat in the city on ure way to chinatown

K great so I got it
Not flying till oct so they have 3 months to cancel on me and I only got business class since first had an extra stop
Already have one stop from ewr-Pek- hKg and same for the way back did anybody get non stop

Just the experience of flying first class for those of us who never have (myself included) makes it worthwhile.

Lol! I love this mindset! I'll let you in on a little secret. I have a seat booked that's better than any first class in the world! It's got a couch, recliner, computer, full bathroom with shower, a kitchen with a stocked fridge, and you get to skip security - it's called my house!!

When you need to fly anyway, it's much more comfortable being in first class. But if I have a choice between relaxing in the suite I described above, or on a first class seat to Hong Kong, I can't really see why the airplane is more relaxing/luxurious/roomy etc....

Its not MORE relaxing but when its over you get to enjoy a bit of Hong Kong.

if you have ever been to hong kong you will know that the city is the attraction. yes the fake stalls, the crowded street, the escalaters from the city center, to the top - "con duk doe" the wanchai computer center is amazing! its the real deal of the chinese fake and possibly stolen or factory defected (possibly a dented box or what not) 2030 (exaggeration) advanced electronics you never dreamed of!
obviously i wouldnt fly in for the jerusalem mix. but if i was flying in first, and i assume he didnt get kosher meals with such short notice, i would be pretty hungry. the jerusalem mix hits the spot. on the other hand i would fly in for the motzei shabbos JCC eat all you can buffet

anyone been there? its really good!
i've been to the hong kong electronics expo, something out of this world! but it takes time, surely more than a couple hours. these things seem to be the best you can do in 12hrs. - the train to hong kong city.
i've been to hong kong a few times. care to suggest what exciting things you did there?

if you dont have that teiva- good for you, though many have.

+1 (for first class tho - first time)

could be by the time i land i'll be over it and not care for the return but i would be super excited to fly first class.

i dont recall hkg having too many fakes like there is at pek or bkk. i was told it was against the law there and they are strict about it

B/c I'm able to experience my couch every evening after work.
I can't experience a trip to a exotic locale in relative comfort every evening after work.

And anyhow, I'm hoping to be able to visit family with these tix. HGK is just a stopover point.
