Thanks!
I had loads of fun. Nothing to be sorry about.
How about the hotels/cars people booked, I know one person who changed other tickets to catch the deal... really bad communication on UA's part
You know this was not about the 600,000 miles or the $13,000 first class flight or even about a vacation to Hong Kong. This was about an EPIC adventure and lifetime bragging rights. And no amount of money could have bought that. I did have a great time though, reading everyone's hilarious posts. So thanks for that.
So true.I've got the miles to do this trip 50 times over and on better airlines to HKG. And yet, I'm saddened.
you have 6.75 million AA miles??
UA+AA, sure.Better airlines=ANA in *A, or Cathay Pacific in OW, etc. Light-years better than flying on UA.
I have a real issue here. I now really hate United for the way they handled this. I hate the way airlines nickel and dime and won't let you change your ticket if you made a blatant mistake and booked a the wrong week etc. But I hate getting the government involved in this, it's really not their place. I just wish United would have been a little nicer about this so I'd feel terrible filing with DOT.Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. What say you Platinum Guy? Filing?
Did you ever call 911? Do you drive on the roads? You pay the DOT employees salary so you should not feel bad involving them.
I disagree. There are certain thing the government does need to get involved in for example the government must provide an army etc... In regard to the airlines, they are big corporations and have become powerful and they tend to abuse that power. If UA has broken the rules people need to bring it up so UA can come clean and not over power people in the future.
