Ticket in thompson court
« on: July 12, 2012, 02:50:16 PM »
I got two moving violations on the 17b one for speeding 68/50 according to cop i say it was 65/55 zone and one for not having a big child in booster seat. I mailed back the tickets not guilty and i got a letter from the court that i could work out a plea through the mail. Does someone know if its better or ill have better chances for a better plea if i go down and not through the mail. (my license is still in the first six month so i cant afford any points)
thanks for your help

The main thing the courts want is your money. A lawyer mostly will just get you a reduced fine and less points. Yes - sometimes they will manage no points but there is no guarantee.

Get an abstract of your driving record and send it in asking for a plea. Or get a lawyer and pay for a lawyer also.

I got a ticket 85 in a 65 zone (after slowing down due to late warning by radar detector (which I returned to best buy as it obviously didn't work as advertised!!)) and asked court by mail for a plea deal which ended up costing me $150 and 2 points instead of 4 points. But YMMV
