They aren't doing anything you can't do yourself. They sue them for violations under FDCPA and keep the money that you should be collecting. This does not repair your credit or increase your score.

If you have a  delinquency that they get rid of you can then get a CC, before you wouldn't be able to get approved.

Most of these services say a lot of things. I really don't want to get into a lot of tricks they use because they can do more harm than good. I have seen inquires removed a certain way and then your CR becomes locked with a fraud alert. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. Just be careful.

Just my experience wth a close family member who had removed a delinquent mortgage, and now being approved for CCs one after the other....
