Author Topic: Booked a ticket, birth date is wrong (Read 3824 times)

I booked tickets using Aeroplan, I typed in the birth date wrong, for example I typed 6/8/1987 for June 8th 1987, but I guess the format was day/month/year.

I only realized when my confirmation came in with the wrong birthdate

Do I have to worry?

I would call them up to change the B day to be on the safe side.

I had that on a aa flight booked thru BA for someone
Didn't realize. They went to airport but no ticket

What do you mean no ticket? They didn't let him on the flight?

No. They sent confirmation email when I booked the ticket. The person flying didn't do online check in, in advance. So they only found out at the airport that they never made a flight for them

Yes I booked a ticket. Apparently the birth date was wrong. I didn't realize.
I got the confirmation for the ticket, forwarded it to my mil
She gets to the airport for her aa flight, they say they have no ticket and can't deal with it bec its booked thru BA.
She wakes me up (time difference) and I call BA.
They say this is standard, they officially tried to contact me, even if they didn't no apologies. I gave the correct info And they booked her for the next flight out.

Let me guess. This was over a year ago. And you didn't put in the wrong birth date, but rather they never asked you for a birthday at all

1) BA has known issues that at times when doing an award (on AA or others?) It doesn't get "ticketed". I have had it by aeroplan as well, where it was over a day and they hadn't ticketed an award on LH and only found out by check in.
2) regarding DOB, just shoot one, nothing will happen (in most cases...)
