I was always wondering whats the purpose of writing this before finishing reservations.

IMO 95% of the people use their miles only after seeing that the ticket prices are high, and 95% of the time United would give you the highest rate ever on this routing, so obviously do they really think that people would reconsider and purchase with cash?

I came to a conclusion that they do this only to give a good feeling for people to see how much they save, as anybody that made a reservation would know that it is quite a good feeling.... :)

Your thoughts...

PS. maybe this belongs in just shmooze, mods feel free do move it there...

On partner flights, the purchase this now option in premium cabins can be cheaper than you'll find otherwise.

Never ever seen this. IME it was ALWAYS the opposite...

FE: the attachment there is all on partners, and can be bought online for $3K in Economy, and $7K in business. They charge 23K and 33K as you can see.
