Random Credit Pull

I have a pull from the NJ Courts Administration -- probably because I am registered to take the NJ bar.  Anyone know if this counts the same as a regular pull?

When did you get it? As of a few weeks ago, I didn't get pulled, and I'm taking it too.

It's from the NJ bar. NY doesn't pull.

And, yes, it's the same as any other pull.

Why are the pulling credit for this? Do they not allow you to take/pass the bar if you have poor credit and/or derogs?

If they do a character investigation that would be the reason.

Incorrect.

Only NY does it after you pass the bar. NJ has a much more streamlined (and test-taker friendly) approach.

I think he meant fail the character investigation, which would be pretty terrible if you just went through 3 years of law school and only now found out you couldn't be admitted to the bar, regardless of whether they let you know before or after taking the exam.

Yerrible indeed. It's something that should be changed (though there are arguments to keep the status quo).

In any event, I was talking about the fact that at least NJ spares you from the possibility from studying an additional 3 months for 12 hours a day + paying for a bar review course + taking the actual exam, unless they'll admit you upon passing.
