Splitting low CL - Chase
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:39:30 PM »
I recently did a 3bm for Freedom, SP and BA, my first chase app. My score is mid-700 with a short (~2 yrs) credit history.
I was only approved for the BA with a 6k CL. I called recon and they told me that I can chose one other card to split the CL, so I chose SP. He said I'd have to shift 5k to SP, because that's the minimum opening CL.
Then I got an email offer for the UA club with no AF and I did an app right away (I knew I had no chance of getting an instant approval).
So I called recon and wanted to ask if I could split my BA (1K) CL, but the CSR said I have to first fax in documentation to verify my identity, which I did last week.
My question is: Is it worth trying to split a 1k CL over 2 cards or is that too much (HUCA or is that useless)? If I ultimately can't, should I cancel the SP for the UA club card?

What's the question? Of course split.

What's the question? Of course split.
Will they be willing to spilt a 1k CL, $500 each? And more importantly, if the only way to get the UA approved is through canceling my SP, should I cancel it?
