Trying to book a domestic flight on Vueling with IB avios and keep on getting this error:

We have detected a possible improper use of your payment card. For your security we have not allowed the completion of the sale online with this payment card. .
If you wish you can go to one of our offices [Open in a new window] to make the booking and purchase.

Tried multiple cards and all get the same error note. Called IB and they said you cannot book domestic Spain flight with a US billing card. Anyone heard of this?

Maybe a Citi VCC will work for this

Heard response from them today on it:

Hi, ******. In fact, this isn't an error. It's an anti-fraud system for flights operated by other airlines. To check if our colleagues are able to offer an alternative payment method, you need to call Serviberia over the phone. Regards

Ticketed. Keep in mind if booking a domestic Spain ticket on IB or VY using avios, you need to change country at the top left from USA to Spain.

I am having the same issue as azhoopsfan although on a much much smaller scale. I originally added miles to my account with this DDMS posted promotion back in Sept 2014 so I should be able to transfer Avios between my BA and Iberia account without having to wait 3 months. When I got the email a few weeks ago that my points are expiring I transferred a few over with the intention of thereby avoiding the expiration.

  • Will the 0 balance in my account mean that I am no longer able to transfer from BA? Or once the transfer option is activated it lasts?
  • If I add new points from Amex or BA what will be the expiration date? If they don't consider transfers as activity, will they automatically expire as soon as the are added to the account?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Will be the same $58.36 RT tax that BA would charge you. You would be saving 3k Avios for a RT ticket.

They do not allow household accounts.
