Central air conditioner
« on: July 22, 2012, 02:22:48 AM »
Im looking to get a 5 ton central air conditioner and the person I'm using up instal it is telling me instead of the 14 seer he would put in. I should get a 18 seer even though it's approx $1500 more for the unit, I'll save more than that on electric bill.

Does anyone know or have experience with this??

size of area? 1500-2000 sq +/- no difference.. if greater then you will prob save on elec in the long run (after 3 years avg.) TAKE EXTENDED WARRANTY
you can only make a first impression ONCE

He told me it has lifetime warranty on the system. But not sure exactly what that covers.
I just met someone who told me best way to save is to make zones ( I have that for heat and never heard of it for a/c) I'll ask him tomorrow

If it is a 5 ton unit it better be more than 2k sq ft.
