Citi AT&T Cards
« on: July 23, 2012, 04:43:57 PM »
Nothing special to see here. It's an AT&T affiliated card, which has Thank You Points attached to it, and no real sign up bonus of which to speak of (currently 10k for the personal card, n/t for the biz card.)

Somewhat more interesting is that when I canceled my AA biz card a few months back, they convinced me to convert that card into the ATT biz card, which has no annual fee. When I finally checked the website to see what the card offers, I saw this.

https://creditcards.citi.com/credit-cards/att-universal-business-rewards-card/

Earn 5 ThankYou® Points for every $1 spent on eligible AT&T products/services

When purchased directly from AT&T2
Earn 3 points for every $1 spent on purchases at certain office - supply merchants, gas stations and on professional services

And 1 point for every dollar you spend on other purchases2
You also earn 1 point for every $1 your employees spend on other purchases2

Basically, you can earn 3 cents (minimum) for purchases at gas stations and some other locations. Not the greatest out there, but may work for some people, especially being fee-free. And depending on the merchants, maybe there would be some way of playing with the card.

Any ideas @HelpMe?

I have the card. I don't think I used it in the last 10-15 years.

The AT&T universal had a promotion through 8/2012 get 5% on supermarkets, gas and drug stores up to $25. It was very easy to reach. Each month I automatically got the credit on my statement until I hit the $25.
I also hadn't used this card in ages but did for this promotion.

The $25 cap totally kills that deal. IIRC BofA cards often have category promotions with similar lousy caps.

Cap is $2.5k spent (5k AA), and AA is worth more than 1cpm, at least to me it is.

I got a 3x offer on airfare, hotels, and carrentals. I'm quite confident it was on $2,500 spend.
