BoA Travel Rewards
« on: July 30, 2012, 05:39:15 PM »
Just got an offer for a BoA Travel Rewards card. Anyone knows how their rewards program works? Seems like instead of miles they give you a statement credit for travel related expenses, but I couldn't find any information for how much miles/rewards.
It seems like the card has other things going for it though: 1.5 points per $ (plus 10% bonus for BoA costumers), no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.

Welcome to the forums, love the username.

I don't have much details on the card, but seems like a decent deal if that's the reward-structure you're looking for. Cr@p1 Venture card is a similar card offering 2% towards travel. What re your travel habits nd/or what kind of travel are you looking to redeem for?

Did your offer come with any sort of signup bonus?

I was actually trying to figure out how the reward program worked, i.e. is the amount of points required  comparable to the amount of miles other programs offer etc.

For every $100 you spend you get $1.50 ($1.65 if you're a BofA customer) toward travel spending. So say you spend $1000, you can buy a NYC MetroCard for $15 (assuming BofA considers that travel spend) and they credit you those $15.

C1 didn't count metrocard as travel, but then again, regarding

with c1 you were (are?) able to credit the same (refundable) airline ticket 4 times...

I believe this is a public offer on their site. I saw it yesterday as well.

For all those who have this card and has points with travel rewards. You are able to transfer the TR points to WP.
This means you get 1.85cp dollar since every dollar spent with TR you get 1.5ppd and if you have a BOA checking add 15% which is 1.65 transfer to WP. Cash out at 1.3 and you total = 1.85 for every dollar spent.
(I know there are a lot better cards out there but if this is all you have then...)
