Thats still not too bad and definitly worth it. The biggest downside as far as I am concerned with ANA is the transfer time. If you dont have the points in your account then you take a big chance that the availability might not be there a few weeks later once the transfer is complete, so the options are just transfering now for a future reservation that will hopefully work out, or just taking a big risk once you have available dates and you want to book.
you can try checking with aeroplan.com , however, always check segment by segment, and a return trip
When I tried checking award availability through aeroplan it only showed me availability with AC and not any partners. Am I checking it wrong or is it that those dates (a few months worth) that I checked really didnt have any availability except on AC?
I'm too cheap to pay for info that should be free Honestly, if they had more airlines' award availability I might consider buying a subscription.
So why cant I find any availability for JFK-ZRH-JFK? I checked a few months worth of dates.
They give 5 free days I believe, so if you don't mind creating new accounts as needed, and the ethical issue, it can be "free"
I had no idea that you didn't need to use a credit card to try expertflyer.I'm just trying it now and it's very cool!If they just had more airlines it would be worth paying for.
I can't believe I taught Dan something he didn't know- "m'talmiday yoser m'kulam"
Update-The ANA tool just got updated and now shows Swiss Availability as well.
B"H !Just need to testdrive it.
And Air China as well.Appears to be working great! If only I can find a way to check El Al online I can forget about EF.
YOU fly Elal?
Never have, but I've been checking of late on EF for a CDG-TLV flight for 20K AA.

Why don't you try El AL site?
