1. EnergyPlus is offering me 25k SW for switching to them. They're a scam, and it seems they're getting desperate offering 25k.
I actually got a 25k United offer. The letter has a link (
EnergyPlusRewards.com/UALNY72), so if anyone's interested they can give it a try.
As far as EnergyPlus being a scam, it's a very beatable scam, with no real risk. I did it already on a much less lucrative offer and now I'm kicking myself for jumping on it back then. They guarantee to be 7% less than ConEd during the first 2 months (which I confirmed in my bills). After that you can cancel very easily, one phone call (in which they'll try to sell you on some sort of special rate) and you're done. You will possibly be stuck with their high rate for the third billing month, but as long as you call as soon as your bonus miles post you won't get hit more than that. And while their rates are a ripoff, unless you're consuming electricity like some sort of industrial factory, it's not going to cost you anywhere near what you're earning.
