Any tips on how to play with the Jetlag for a weekend trip to TLV? Leaving EWR on Wed pm arriving Thu on and returning Tue on the red eye landing Wed am.

Should I discourage sleeping on the outbound so that they sleep when we get there? Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm confused by this. Why would you discourage sleeping on a night flight? You want them to sleep.
Also, I'd like to see you try to keep a tired toddler up for 12 hours. Practically impossible without physically holding his eyes open.

Is anything required at all?
what do you mean by required?

We're arriving at 4-5pm. I'm gonna assume that kids will have a hard time falling asleep then after sleeping on a long flight.

I don't think anyone understands what your asking...are you asking if you need to request anything in order to bring on a car seat when the child has a seat? Then the answer is no.

Do I need to bring a car seat?

Why would u not?
e.g. if you didn't get a seat for a lap child  you can seat 2 kids on an airplane seat without a car seat.

I'm traveling to LA and would like to rent a convertible. Is this possible with the graco snugride 35? I have a hard time getting into smaller cars.

Will there be another person in the passenger seat?
May be too tight, unless to are driving with the seat pushed all the way up.

TLV to JFK 2 adults and an infant: Which is better 2 seats in business or 3 in coach (don't know what airline yet)

If the infant can sleep in a seat, maybe 3 coach. If you will be holding the child, business may be more comfortable.

AA metal. Been discussed before. Yet have a policy that is a bit over a year old. No bulky strollers or any strollers over 20lbs
Just reading through this thread for the first time, I flew AA last summer and had no issue gate checking our Bugaboo Bee stroller and bring a car seat on the plane.
Same with Jet Blue.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

My wife will be in the front passenger seat. You've done this before?

Nope. But convertibles are not really known to be spacious.

Maybe you can find the dimensions of the seats and figure it out like that.

I tried but the most I can get is rear legroom. That doesn't really help me with how much space on the seat.

In case there's no extra seat for a carseat for an infant, would airlines allow it to be gate-checked "in addition" to a gate-checked stroller?
Are there airlines who only allow one item to be gate-checked?
