Just got tickets from JFK to TLV with the AA deal (connection to El Al at CDG). Family of 5 (2 toddlers and a lap infant).
Most legs I was able to get seats together. However, from CDG to JFK they assigned us the last 3 scattered seats. My 3 year old does not even have an assigned seat. I called AA to add the lap infant and attempt to work out the seats, and I was told that the only seats together have an extra charge, and I will have to wait for the airport to be accommodated. Agent said that no manager/supervisor could do any better.
Is there really nothing to do?
Has anyone gone though anything similar?
Since I have a lap infant, is there any way to get bulkhead/bassinet in advance for free?

Thanks!

Bump...
Pick up and call again.
Tell them how stressful it is etc.
There is a good chance nothing will happen until you check-in, but if its so important for this one flight, then maybe pay for the upgrade if you can

Has anyone ever been denied bringing a car seat onboard in J when paying for a  lap child and there are empty seats?
Has anyone ever answered you?
Wondering the same.

I was denied on LH F! They said LH policy is no car seats. They gave us a 3rd seat (the one with the bassinet) but they said the baby has to either be held or in the bassinet, she can't be in a seat by herself.

I'm traveling with a 5 year old, 3 year old, and infant.
I'm thinking to go to the gate with UB frame/adapter/chicco keyfit for infant and scenera/gogo babyz for 3 year old.
Thoughts on this?
Also can I check the regular UB seat, rumble seat, and piggyback board in a way that
a. won't count as luggage
b. won't get ruined

After looking up your stroller, leave the UB at home, buy cheap but decent travel stuff that you won't mind too much if it gets ruined.  These things happen no matter what you do, and why risk the aggravation?  Take the piggyback board (if not UB specific) carry on.

were going to be doing a lot of walking - the UBV is great for that and able to be used for 1, 2 (or 3) kids - I the cheap travel stuff will prob make the trip harder.

anyone has experience checking an UBV seat?
