Never knew you can really do this:

The good news is that airlines — including British Airways — allow passengers to book flights for unborn children. You can do this by using a generic name like “Baby Jones” ahead of the birth. Once the child is born, named and given a birth certificate, Shimal can call the airline and update the child’s information; this includes adding the baby’s name as well as the date of birth and passport details.

Does anyone know what do I need in order to take up my car seat on to a delta flight? The customer service rep told me I need to bring a seatbelt? What is that is it part of the car seat or separate?

I’ve only flown with a Doona so not sure if this helps. I just buckle it in with the seat buckle rear facing. I’ve found the Delta buckles to be really short on some planes and it barely makes it to close.
I did once have an issue closing it on a Delta flight and the flight attendant refused to let me buckle it like that. Ended up having to hold the baby on that particular flight.
My tip to you is to just buckle in the car seat as quick and quietly as you can and hope no one looks too closely that it meets all the “requirements” that they may or may not make up on the spot.
Good luck! I only had the issue once out of numerous times but it was with Delta!

What is Qatar Airways policy/cost for infant in arms in QSuites on Award ticket (using Qatar/Privilege Club Avios)?
Seems like conflicting reports online whether they allow infants in first place in J.
Anyone can report from experience?
And, is there an option to purchase an infant ticket with own seat for cash (at Child rate) attached to an award reservation?

So you just placed it on the seat? Without buckling?

That should be enough to get a rep to convert it to an ETC for you. Tell them you can't book your infant with you.

My guess is yes. There’s no one actively stopping you from taking a seat onto the plane. If you’re 100% sure there will be an empty seat next to you you can probably get away with it. (I would just take off the Pink slip for gate check on the car seat while you’re on the jet bridge).
Or you can just do what @yelped said.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I already requested an ETC a few weeks ago and they denied it.

Now I called based upon your suggestion and she converted it to ETC :)

Thanks!

Flying with a kid in a car seat,

Usually, we put the car seat near the window, but when flying wide body, I want to book the 4 middle seats, and put both kids in the middle 2 seats in car seats, will they allow it?

Anybody know what is the baggage policy on el al for infants that do not have seats purchased?
according to their website they allow 23 checked kg but no carry-on but on my ticket it says 5x bags meaning aside from the baby. I have also never heard of 23 kg being allowed for an infant?

As long as I remember, it has not been possible to book infants online for international flights on aa.com. This appears to have changed and infant booking is now possible.

An infant can fly domestically with nothing. If he’s close to 2 bring a birth certificate just in case.

My wife just flew UA with a friend from NYC-MIA, each with an infant. They had the isle and window seats with the middle empty. The FA moved my wife out and put her in between 2 males, stating a FAA rule that you can't have 2 infants in a row together. Anyone know of such a thing?

yes. Since there are only 4 oxygen masks per row, FAA rule is not more than 1 lap child per row although most FA won't inforce IME
