Benadryl
DONT try any medication before trying it at home and seeing how it affects your child.

A Gogobabyz is a lifesaver.
Tablet with songs, apps, kids headphones is great.
Etch a sketch, safety markers, etc.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions,

I'll go with the crayons, snacks, puzzles........ though I feel an tablet is a little bit of a luxury item,

As for the melatonin I wasn't planning on using it but just wanted it as a last resort in case the flight turns into a disaster & I'm curious to hear feedback from people that have used it

I use melatonin for my daughter. It does not make her sleepy, it just relaxes her so that she can fall asleep

If you give a toddler 1mg melatonin it just calms them down so they fall asleep. Once you hit 3-5 mg it really depends on the size/age but it can sometimes really knock them out. Up to 3 mg three doctors (pediatrician, naturopath & Trauma Surgeon) OK'd for me.
Obviously try at home first to work out dosage and side effects.
FYI kids sleeping with melatonin should wear diapers/pull ups.

If your kid has an adverse reaction you'll go from disaster to...........test it first.

Also, a known side effect is nightmares... So keep that in mind

First off you should request a bassinet if you haven't done one already.

Make sure to bring extra diapers and clothes for the baby, you never know what is going to happen.

Are you buying an extra seat? Before the kid starts crawling, you can just lay them on the seat. Worked well for me.

car seat by a long shot

the bassinets are very small and block your leg room
