Spray foam
That helps? Not a ventilation issue?

The idea of spray foam is to keep hot air from running out of your home during the winter, cold air (from you AC) doesn't rise so spray foam wont help, since the cold AC air will never get to you attic anyhow

But how does that lower the attic temperature?

It keeps the external air out and the internal air in. And cold air does circulate in the inside of your house, even if it doesn't "rise". The attic won't be the same temperature as the rest of your house, but it will be relatively comfortable.

I have like R-60 in my attic, but it gets hot. The only way to reduce it is by ventilation, no?

But how does that lower the attic temperature?

Because it gets sprayed on the roof itself instead of the cieling so the attic is now insulated.

Thats interesting. Isn't that wasted space you are now heating/cooling?

My attic is over 120°.
I have an attic tent and I only go up there occasionally to put things in/out of storage.

There is no vent to the attic. If the AC unit and duct are in the attic then it will benefit efficiency tremendously. Either way, the attic only gets heated/cooled from exchange through the ceiling.

There don't need a vent to the attic. Heating and AC will work harder without the ceiling between the attic insulated.
Which part of the AC is in the attic? If it is the compressor, then you can't insulate the roof. I have ductwork in the attic, and you just insulate the duck work.

The attic doesn't get so hot because the whole thing is insulated and better than R30 probably also better than R60 since it is airtight. There is a limit to how well you cal insulate a duct when it is in a 120 degree attic

This is what it looks like against the roof with the ceiling sheetrock not installed

It is considered to be better insulated and there are govt incentives to use this over fiberglass in some areas. Yes they are trusses.
