LMS - Last Man Standing.. Not FMS (First Man Standing) - This game is for night time only, not morning, afternoon, or evening.. NIGHT TIME ONLY!!

At night while most of the world is sleeping there are some members which are looking to socialize since they have no one else to speak to; they play a really exciting and fun game which basically every couple minutes you write a comment, the comments range from standing to sleeping, from young grasshoppers to old grasshoppers. it usually begins around 1:00 am EDT

RULES OF THE GAME:

1) Game starts at 1am Eastern, 12am Central, 11pm mountain, 10pm pacific... You get the point.
2) Anyone can call a roll call, just make a reply with "Roll Call". The roll call must be readable to the naked eye.
3) No more than one roll call every thirty minutes.
4) You have 30 minutes to respond to the roll call to stay active.
5) To respond to a roll call just post a reply with "Here" or "y y y"
6) If after one hour there are no more "Roll Calls" or "Heres", then the last person to post correctly either by calling a roll call or with a reply of "here" is declared winner of LMS.
7)You must have been awake for at least 12 hours before making or answering a RC.

OR IN SHORT:

When someone calls for a roll call. No more than one every 30 minutes and you have 30 minutes to respond "Here".

Let's just set the record straight here. Glycerin can be from both plant and animal fats. The glycerin is rarely known to be specifically animal source. It would be a sensitive ingredient and not known to be a problematic one. At one point when I researched it, the vast majority of generic glycerin in the US was plant based.
@moko  can probably give more up to date info.
Animal glycerin is cheaper.

Is it really? At the time I did my research there was no price difference between the two chemically identical items. You were barely able to get animal based in the US due to the abundance of corn. This was at least 15 years ago so things may have changed.

That is what Rabbi D. Cohen says in the above link (because there is less demand) somewhere about minute 6. I don’t know much beyond that.

The issue resurfaced last year around Pesach time, when someone researched and discovered that animal Glycerin is being used. Not a Cheshad.

On what item? Always? Sometimes? I vaguely recall someone publicizing a letter. Do you know where to find out?

I don't know how it was 15 years ago but what I heard is that many use animal based glycerin. I have a friend who actually took the time to call in some brands and some were confirming their glycerin to be animal based.

I also had that until digging a little deeper when it came out they were saying that it "can" be animals based and they were afraid to go on record about most being animal based so they shouldn't be sued by vegetarians etc.

I have always heard משמו that it's fine, and I've always relied on that. Today, I finally asked מו"ר personally, "is there any issue with liquid children's medicines that contain Tarfus" and sure enough he said, "no problem."

not that much animal left in the US. As far I know, there are only 2 places still messing around with it. (One of them in my backyard).
Keilim is still an issue though. The places still doing animal are large facilities and also doo vegetable.
Also, an up and coming issue is renewables (spent fat).
Seeing quite a few places refining nad they can still call it vegetable

Famously he’s of that opinion, supposedly from Rav Moshe. I don’t understand why though, אינו ראוי לאכילת גר? Can’t that change based on the specific medicine?
If there is a perfectly effective kosher equivalent I don’t understand why people wouldn’t use it.

+1
When the tumult started I called a Rav Hamachshir and he also said no problem, but others disagreed. When the kosher one came out it's was an easy choice to be on the safe side.

I tested out this bagel slicer. It doesn't work on fresh bagels. The bagels are too soft and just bunch up. Oh well it's a good idea in theory.

My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.
