Seriously?
Yup. Most of last week's Jerusalem DO attendees won't see this discussion.
Maybe there should be a news discussion board though.

Their filter blocks it, or they choose to block it?
If it is their filter, is it based on the name "Just Shmooze"?

Their filter blocks it. The company didn't like some of the topics discussed in JS:

That's a very detailed breakdown of your water bill!  Based on the information you provided, your total service-related charges would be $182.21.
According Gemini's breakdown sewage not metered costs more then the water itself
Here's a quick breakdown of the main charges:

Water Charges:
$54.43 (Water Usage Charge) + $19.85 (Water Service Charge) + $3.42 + $0.40 (Purchased Water Surcharge) + $2.82 (Distribution System Improvement Charge) + $4.64 (LSLRC Surcharge) = $85.16
Wastewater Charges: $54.14 (Wastewater Service) + $15.00 (Wastewater Service Charge) + $39.14 (Wastewater Usage Charge) + $35.74 + $3.92 (Purchased Wastewater Surcharge) + $2.85 (Wastewater System Improvement Charge) = $149.75
Total: $85.16 (Water Charges) + $149.75 (Wastewater Charges) = $182.21
This aligns perfectly with the total service-related charges you provided.

Do you have any other questions about your water bill or water usage in general?

Block was implemented after a specific thread, or at least that is what we suspect happened. (https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=133433.0) Instead of blocking the thread, the people in charge of the filter chose to block the whole JS. Presumably this is because according to their manifesto, threads just for wasting time (as JS technically advertises itself as even though it often is useful for discussing other topics) should always be blocked. Though at the time, I wondered why they didn't also block politics.

It's not $50 of water, it's $182 of water. That's just how they choose to frame it.

I can certainly see that thread ruffling some feathers.
The original title alone got most upset.

There are 2 separate charges here water and sewer. Water is based on what you used that month. Sewer is based on the average from Dec through February.

I don't care how you spin it, I want to know how it compares to other providers,
is this the norm to bill sewage based on average from Dec through February?

That is a township charge collected by the water company and each municipality does it differently. The theory is that over the summer people use water for sprinklers and pools that do not use sewer.

The water charge is cheaper from Lakewood Municipal Utility but you don't have a choice between them

I asked a question which is how do these rates compare to other providers,
I know all the calculations posted but no one answered my question
I know there formula I understand their reasoning,
I believe that NJAM water charges much more then any other provider I just don't have what to base it on, i would like to hear from monsey Brooklyn Chicago and Cleveland how they are billed with the breakdown.
for the sake of curiosity

Why can't they use regular terms like gallons. Why MCF? What does it stand for?

In CLE I've been paying $130-$180 per month for water and sewer together lately. They split them into two separate bills, I guess so they can charge you the basic charge twice...
(Not sure how much usage. Probably about 1-1.5 mcf)

In NYC, the way they do it is the meter measures in cubic feet. They then round that number up to the next hundred cubic feet (HCF), and the charges are based on that. My last 12 months were between 5 and 9 HCF. Total water+sewer per 1 HCF is currently $11.63, which is ~$.01555/gallon.
