RULES OF THE GAME:

1) Game starts at 1am Eastern, 12am Central, 11pm mountain, 10pm pacific... You get the point.
2) Anyone can call a roll call, just make a reply with "Roll Call". The roll call must be readable to the naked eye.
3) No more than one roll call every thirty minutes.
4) You have 30 minutes to respond to the roll call to stay active.
5) To respond to a roll call just post a reply with "Here" or "y y y"
6) If after one hour there are no more "Roll Calls" or "Heres", then the last person to post correctly either by calling a roll call or with a reply of "here" is declared winner of LMS.

Indeed!
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Knowing when to give up is a valuable skill. As children we are told to stick with painful and unpleasant things, and while that is often wise, sometimes it just results in more pain. Discerning the difference between choking down one's vegetables--good!--and pursuing a hobby merely for the sake of it--bad!--is a tricky bit of prudence that many adults can't quite seem to get. The notion of an "acquired taste" is somewhat related. Eating chocolate is something you can nail the first time and every time, so acquiring a taste for expensive Scotch whisky that tastes of dirt seems a little off. But sometimes... sometimes! You should try that thing again.

It is amazing how some can manage to take a polluted political thread and pollute it even more with their crap.

Last night, I read a story (within a story) in which a man claimed to be the half-brother of a frum man who had lost his father, saying the father had had a previous marriage in which he had fathered the man. He sought half the inheritance. The man's material evidence was slight, but a judge ruled that an exhumation of the deceased for a DNA test was necessary. Rather than allow this desecration, the man gave up half of his considerable inheritance.

I find this story absolutely unbelievable. Donald J. Sobol lightning round time!
What's wrong with this picture, Dr. Haledjian?

(Fun fact: The first Encyclopedia Brown book was published in 1963
and the last, the 29th, in 2012, 3 months after the author's death.)

(Thought I posted something else after that... Maybe I'm misremembering.)

The Proud Boy initiation rituals are both bizarre and overtly political. In order to be accepted into the first level of the group, men - the group is only open to biological males - must recite: "I am a Western chauvinist and I refuse to apologise for creating the modern world."
The second degree involves getting hit by fellow members while shouting out the names of five breakfast cereals, along with committing to avoid p--n and mas--------n - the group says they erode traditional relationships. To progress to the third degree, members get a Proud Boy tattoo.

Donald J. Sobol
Was he Jewish? Religious?

As a kid, I always got excited when he spoke about how Encyclopedia Brown's town had a synagogue (or two? - don't recall)

His parents name were Ira and Ida (Gelula), Sobol is often a Jewish last name. Can't imagine he was not jewish.

Are you aware that the whole golem association thing with the shul and the Maharal are just a myth? Created by some jewish and non jewish fiction writers of his time?
Not sure how into this topic you are, but if you want to read up on all the details of historical figures that were involved in the process of making a golem, and the multiple diff methods known involved in the process, what the safer yetzirah says about it, chacham tzvi, vilna gaon, shla"h, Rokeach aka R' Elazar m'vermeiza...the chasidei ashkenaz were well versed in this subject and in kabbala maasis in general, for an amazing book on this topic, see Moshe Idel's book "golem"...you won't regret it.
