It is the worst EC I have seen in my lifetime. Anything I say will be twisted in the most negative way imaginable.
When I request your comment, it is precisely in order to hear voices that are definitely not part of the EC.
I watched a video yesterday and came across a sentence that touched me and got me pondering.
It's at 5:22 (the guy speaking sounds most reasonable in the video). The first person speaking in the video also makes it quite clear as to why so many support Oct. 7th. For them it is a huge win, for the first time they caused significant pain to the Israelis on a scale never before seen, and they feel like the world is now seeing them as a force to reckon with.
I have no answer. How will the kids who experienced this grow up? What could we expect?
I do blame the US, the UN, the ICRC, and other allies for not fully backing the Israelis to demand immediate release of the hostages and complete surrender (or at the very least ICRC supervision of the conditions of the hostages). The pretense that there is any solution to avoid suffering on the Gazan side other than unconditional surrender, is prolonging the suffering.
