LMS - Last Man Standing.. Not FMS (First Man Standing) - This game is for night time only, not morning, afternoon, or evening.. NIGHT TIME ONLY!!

At night while most of the world is sleeping there are some members which are looking to socialize since they have no one else to speak to; they play a really exciting and fun game which basically every couple minutes you write a comment, the comments range from standing to sleeping, from young grasshoppers to old grasshoppers. it usually begins around 1:00 am EDT

RULES OF THE GAME:

1) Game starts at 1am Eastern, 12am Central, 11pm mountain, 10pm pacific... You get the point.
2) Anyone can call a roll call, just make a reply with "Roll Call". The roll call must be readable to the naked eye.
3) No more than one roll call every thirty minutes.
4) You have 30 minutes to respond to the roll call to stay active.
5) To respond to a roll call just post a reply with "Here" or "y y y"
6) If after one hour there are no more "Roll Calls" or "Heres", then the last person to post correctly either by calling a roll call or with a reply of "here" is declared winner of LMS.
7)You must have been awake for at least 12 hours before making or answering a RC.

OR IN SHORT:

When someone calls for a roll call. No more than one every 30 minutes and you have 30 minutes to respond "Here".

Agreed. Once, someone knows what a nOOb is they are either an expert, or were just lambasted by a fellow DDF'er for being a nOOb #LearningTheHardWay

I think the idea of re-post threads deserves a good few threads for itself, so we concentrate all dummy threads  in one place, (maybe we can merge here all the nym threads...)... :D

Also, how +1's shouldn't count for your number of posts as it clutters the forums. (waiting for someone to +1 this post)

Never thought of it as an offensive term.  We've all been there and most make it out.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can't work on it more right now, but I'll try adding the next time I'm bored at work :)
ETA: Also, I'm sure you noticed, but a lot of it was compiled from your main site posts!

There is a great debate in the internets if n00b/noob is offensive or not. The ideal title would be "Beginner".

A true "n00b" would not even know what a "n00b" is, it is sort of pointless to use the possibly offensive language since most beginners will not even know that it is directed at them.

Nice start! I hope to add a lot to this wiki as well. Any suggestions for how people should edit it properly? For example (and this is not personal AT ALL), I would first discuss the different boards and which ones contain information about what. To me, search is not the "Step 1" of the forums. But, if I just go ahead and re-word the wiki according to my thoughts, others might disagree and change it back or change it to something entirely new altogether.

Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is having a conversation in the thread about how to structure the wiki. If we all first discuss the sections of content to be discussed (and their proper order) and then what pieces of info/links should be contained within those sections, then perhaps we can have a nice back-and-forth as we come to an agreement. Once the content is agreed upon, it comes down to writing it nicely with good grammar, etc.

If we would talk about a nicely designed forum the +1 would be an option to click on the post

Please do add! (That goes for you and everyone else)
I won't take it personally if you change anything, but I hear what you're saying. Maybe the best is to have one person in charge of editing the wiki once a change has been suggested (and if necessary, agreed upon) in the actual thread? I'm happy to self appoint myself to do that.

I think step 1 should be expanded. Lurking should not be underestimated, newcomers who spend a few weeks (at least) lurking before their first post are typically the ones who don't spend too much time (if any) as n00bs...
