If may ask.. What is the purpose if the backslash? Couldn't you do the same thing and just leave out the backslash?

possible, but the network showed it with a bunch of other problems including the fact that no devices could connect with the real network until the router was reset. So i am speculating that the network itself may be rogue

I'm using mcafee on a new dell Xps system
Recently after seeing to many popups I checked my firewall settings
Here's the problem if I try to turn on thru windows it gives an error need to update firewall settings but when I click to update it gives error can't update
When itry to turn on firewall thru mcafee it goes right back to firewall is off
Any help would be appreciated
Ps. I did a complete scan thru Mcafee and found 1 virus and says was removed but still can't turn on firewall

Even through MCAFFE it's also off and dosnt turn on
So Keeps on coming up computer at risk no firewall detected

Run malwarebytes to scan for any rogue trojans that may be turning it off just in case

Yeah, uninstalled/reregistered Avast 8, dont like it as much, they dont seem to allow disabling of mailshield. I had a issue with Outlook in the past...
