You won't officially have access in LHR if you are departing on LY.

I seem to remember hearing such reports, don't remember the specifics though. Either way, just because someone got lucky with a clueless LY rep, doesn't mean you can replicate it.

Im waiting till Aug 31 when they will be desperate and hoping they'll get me the flight I want and wont charge me

They may not charge you but doubt you will get the flights you want

I called the regular ElAl # yesterday morning, waited on hold for about a minute, and got the exact flights I wanted. No luck on getting the $75 charges off - the guy seemed amused that I even had the chutzpah to try.

I am flying on feb 4th on el al flight 8035.

In short this morning I check my "mistake" reservation on elal.com direct. And to my amazement the first leg of my flight was missing. My wife then called Elal's American number and after waing and being transferred a bunch of times. They told her that Expedia canceled it and we had to call them. Fast forward. Expedia says el al canceled it b/c weather and staffing problems.
As of right now we are waiting for a manager from expedia to call us back.
P.s I never received any cancelation email at all

I tried on August 13th to change my tix to the flight i wanted they and only had availability out of newark but nothin into newark on the date i wanted (Chanukah time). I tried 3 times since and kept getting deinied for the tlv-ewr night flight - FINALLY - TODAY they opened the direct flight to Newark - Booked - Done! So, guys - keep trying!
