It's EXTREMELY rude to do that. You don't like the photo? It doesn't fit your communal standards? Ask for another, or ask for permission to photoshop. To unilaterally edit a photo to make someone "more respectable" is massively insulting.

It might be EXTREMELY rude based on English speaking etiquette, but acceptable respectable practice in regular english speaking etiquette.

Coming to a newsstand near you, (Post here if you can get pics of the story):

I sent a couple headshots and told them they had to give credit to the photographer. They contacted the photographer and got some other pictures from the photoshoot (they didn't like this one https://www.dansdeals.com/about-us/).

The photographer is very annoyed as she didn't give usage rights to edit the photo and they didn't give her credit. Then again she said she doesn't want the credit with what they did to the photo.

Sigh.
