Cholov Yisroel:
If you go onto Kosher Panama Website you can search for Cholov Yisroel by entering Jalav Israel in the search, just be aware if the site lists Jalav Israel and Lacteo in the description, the establishment may have both CY and non-CY so be aware and double check with the staff.
SuperKosher also had a nice selection of CY breakfast/snack/frozen items available.

There is a local chalav yisroel that isn't up to everyone's standards. It isn't up to Chabad as they use a lower kasherimg temperature than the alter rebbe holds.
This is what local chabad down there told me. Don't hold me to any of it please.

What do cholov yisroel people do for breakfast?

Any bakeries or cafes only parve or only cholov yisroel?

I was told by Jeffrey's that it's cholov yisroel.

Iirc Jeffrey's has both CY and non-CY so you need to check with the staff when you're there.

Super kosher had a selection of CY products, yogurts milk etc that worked for breakfast.

What’s the best phone company to get a SIM from for a few days?

I purchased a +movil sim card at a kiosk in the mall with Super Kosher for $5 or $10. Refill cards were $5 dollars at any gas station. Was $5 for 7 days of unlimited 4G.

What do people do for Shabbos meals? I’m considering staying in the JW Marriott   Do any restaurants offer meals on Shabbos?

You can reserve meals at Chabad and Beth El.

Hi all! Planning on going to panama city with DW in march. We're gonna be there for 4 days 3 nights, booked the 3 nights at the w panama using FHR credits. We have 2 full days (the other 2 are landing/flying, so don't want to do 8 hr tours). we want to do things native to panama, is san blas a must? Or is it the type that if we've been to the maldives we can skip it?
Also if anyone has any real Panamanian rainforest adventure like tours to recommend that would be great, thanks!!!

+1 on this - I missed the kiosk in the Super Kosher mall, but walked to the one where Deli K is located. It was about $9-10 for a Sim Card + 7 days of service.

We bought pre-made food from SuperKosher and Deli-K. Prices were pretty reasonable (and food was cold on shabbos morning). Chabad also has meals as well, and it's about a 1 mile walk from the JW Marriott.

The Residence Inn is a block away from Chabad.

The Residence Inn is a block away from Chabad.

The residence inn was great - but one huge caveat for shabbos - the lowest floor with rooms is 5, but the first 3 floors are the equivalent of 3 floors each. So even if you get a room on 5, you're walking 10 flights of stairs.

Definitely see the Canal - about 2-3 hours including driving from downtown Panama City. The Gamboa Mountain Resort has a bunch of activities that you can do back-to-back - Like the zip line, Sloth Preserve, etc.

I went in June, here is TR - you might find some useful tidbits in there: https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=131681

  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

What is the consensus on best hotel in Panama City (factoring aesthetics, service, and location). Won't be there for shabbos so leaving that out of the equation.

Obviously depends on your budget and point options.
I’m currently at the residence inn and you can’t get a better location for kosher options. Room size and layout is great. It was only 13K bonvoy points per night.

Panama has been underrated for a long time, seems like people are just starting to find out about it. Affordable and nice hotels, plenty of great kosher restaurants, nearby shuls, lots of activities, cheap uber, etc.
