Some great information in this thread. Has anyone been to Panama at the end of December - between Christmas and New years? How is the weather? Are things more crowded due to locals being on vacation? TIA

Are there any hotels within walking distance of shuls, with rooms on low floors and mechanical keys, so one can avoid elevators and electric locks on Shabbos?

I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Panama City a couple of weeks ago. It's a great location for Chabad and Beth El, and the staff was very helpful with keeping the stairwells open etc.
That being said the lowest floor is 5 (and it's technically higher than that), and they don't have mechanical keys.

How strict are they with quarantine? Wife and I are vaxed but 14 year old son isn’t

As of today - The 14 year old will need to have a Negative Rapid test within 72 hours of arrival. You will have to upload your Vax cards and the test result to the Health Affadavit form.

In the situation where both parents are Vaxed--does the 14 yr old need to quarantine while waiting for the COVID test? Does the COVID test occur any time after arrival or 72 hrs after arrival? Do you have a link for the current protocol for children 12 yr and up who are with Vaxed parents.

Since the US is no longer on the list of high risk countries (at the moment),

I used CliniLab. Was fast and easy. $28 for an antigen test.

Some hotels offer in-house testing but there's a hefty surcharge and they're very unreliable with timing so you need to make yourself available for several hours as there's no telling when the nurse will actually get there... clinic walkin is definitely the best way.

My mistake - it's About $40. Daughter just came back and I thought she said $15 for them to come to hotel.

I used Sorhay as recommended here but she’s not cheap. Great private tour.
