Author Topic: Things To Do In Israel Master Thread (Read 2332862 times)

OK so here goes:
We originally wanted to leave Israel for the summer (wife wanted to go to Spain I wanted to got Thailand and Australia) but there were too many things happening in Israel that we wanted to be around for so we just decided to enjoy it here.
Day 1: We originally were planning on staying at my grandfather's house on a moshav north of Tzfat but they asked us to come a day later so we decided to go to Haifa the first day. Booked a junior suite at the Leonardo Haifa for $136.50 including breakfast and we got upgraded to a deluxe suite.

The sign for their lounge which was free, at least for us.

I would post pictures of the actual room but it was pretty cr@ppy, 3 rooms and the bathroom was the size of that of a regular hotel room :O. The carpet was stained but couldn't complain about the view

First we went to the Baha'i Gardens. I had no idea what it was before we went but I have noticed it written about a lot that it's a must-see in Haifa.

Entry was free but we did not feel comfortable going in more than a few feet. Next we went Elijah's Cave and davened a bit

While we were driving to the cave we noticed the National Maritime Museum and some real ships and submarines. So on our way back we just walked in to see how much it would be and it turned out since we were "toshvei darom" it was free! So we walked around a bit small but pretty cool stuff in there sorry no pictures as I was not planning on writing a TR at that point. They had a large collection of "ships in bottles" and all other artifacts and old equipment. To our dismay the Museum with the ships was a different one called Immigration and Naval Museum" but we showed them our $0.0 receipts from the Maritime Museum and they let us in.

And I thought the accommodations in Yeshiva were bad!

They had a bunch of other cool props from the Navy too.

We then proceeded to the cable cars we noticed for a ride up Mount Carmel to Stella Martis (a waste of 29 Shekel per person as you can drive to the top and have the same experience)

After we hung out at the beach for a bit before heading to the Golan for the night.

Day 2: We went via the Birya Forest to Dalton Winery (no tour because we came too late so just wine tasting)

Shame u missed the winery tour in dalton. Worth while going back one day and taking the tour..
