Lol! I've been wanting to join this city car thing for a while now..You're happy with it? Every time i walk out of my building i just see it sitting there :-\
At first I wasn't bc my wife was using it often and jumped our expenses too much. Now we only use it on only osher ad or something necessary. For those times it's definitely worth it. We signed up a little bit after it came out. Has definitely come in handy for needed times .

I started using city car about 9 months ago. About 3 months ago I called up to cancel my membership and they told me to call a certain number to give back the clicker. No one answers that number and I left message but to no response.
Basically it's a lifetime commitment
Best way to get israelis to do anything for you when said calmly as a matter of fact: " hi , you told me to call a ceramic number to end my membership and they didn't answer.  Either take my call now and end it for me or being that I've been paying with an american cc I will deny charges for the last three months at least and open a case for the last year before and you will be losing all the money charged over that time because I was charged against my will. Which choice would you like?"
:)  IME : golan, thrifty, 012 , hot and kupat clalit were responsive on the spot.

I hate disputing but I did that. Earlier today. And I prewarned them when I left the message a few weeks ago.

What do you consider to be the cheapest in the neighborhood? Is maayan is cheaper than yesh? For some odd reason i thought yesh is for sure the cheapest...

Yesh is overall an evil place to shop.

I had that with thrifty and they said ok let's see that and sure enough I successfully disputed a months rental for $850 on my Amex Spg card! :)

Exactly. Without access to a car this is basically the only option. I just roll the cart to my building (and try to bring it back usually).

As of 10AM, Leumi ATM @ kikar shabbos had no USD.  Has anyone one been there since?

Yesterday neither. Didn't even have the option for it.

Well, to be more presice, at 10AM it didn't have the option for it.  I don't have any way of determining with absolute certainty that there are no dollars in the machine.

I haven't used it in a long time. I wonder how long it's already like this.

I live right there and it's open decent hours. (I hope this new place will be open late)
Anyway it's convenient for my wife. For the random small items... And I have a car

If youre dealing with cash, Depending on how much you're changing & where you're staying would make a big difference. Sometimes it's not worth it . If u have a bank account of no charge for pulling out that would prob be best option .

+1 If your bank doesn't charge a foreign exchange fee, a debit card withdrawal at an Israeli bank ATM will give you the current rate. The change stores take down a very small percent, so if it's not a lot of money, it shouldn't cost too much.
