I'm not familiar with kashrus in general. I'm sure some stores honestly believe in it, and may do it as a protest against the the establishment, so ppl should do their research.
I tend to defer to @Emkay and @samkey for all my kashrus psak's, as they're both very knowledgeable and spend many hours discussing it with well known rabbinical figures.
