thats how i remember it that the owners said that since they have impeccable kashrus standards themselves they dont need a hechsher but that was in 03 so it could be it changed since then s noted in this article
Sounds like a certain famous heimishe family in CLE that fed the community traife some 17 years ago...and they actually were under hashgocha, but the Vaad got lax after the restaurant was sold by a goy to this family and they stopped having a mashgiach t'midi.

Someone once told me after 120 years when they get to Shamayim and G-d asks, Did you keep kosher? He'll say" I don't know, but I paid for kosher."
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

The way I feel about it, is even if they have a totally reliable hechsher, I still wouldn't eat there. How can you rely on a guy that insults people who ask about kashrus?

Went to a restaurant in Jlm last night called Vaquerio. It's located on Haneviim. The review here is outdated, but that's pretty much the only one that I saw. Here's the menu. We went there bec I got a coupon on groupon. Our 1st course consisted of a salad platter (blah) and the turkey breast salad (delish!). Then we got the steaks - very plain - with some very good roasted potatoes. The ambiance was pretty nice (make sure you get a reservation for the inner room, unless you don't mind a chilly meal). They have 2 all you can eat specials: a (late) lunch (they open at 3pm) all you can eat with 6 types of meat for ₪95; dinner with 10-12 different meats for ₪159. I was wondering if anybody ever did the all you can eat here, and if yes, how was?

The Kashrus is Mehadrin - Bada"tz Yoreh Deah, Rav Machpud

it was 90, i also remember this. Then it was really worth it. Now with papagaio serving much better meat and the price being the same, not worth the shlep... But we did have good meals in Yeshiva, traveling with a sherut, 10 guys. good fun

'excellent' might be pushing it, decent is probably more accurate (imho, sorry for being so cynical)
