Wanna see something nice, and have never been to the grand canyons, check out Mitzpeh Rimon in the South
Better yet, go to Arizona to see the real thing.
Skip the long drive to the canyons and disappointing Eilat beaches during precious vacation time in Israel.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

One of the highlights of our trip for both me and my wife and that we look forward to doing again is Friday night at the kosel. As Dan said, I dont believe in wasting all that time to get to Eilat for the subpar beaches etc... But spending time strolling around the old city,  chilling at the Kosel, walking around Tzefat and Tiveria... you just dont get that anywhere else.

the reason i didnt mention papagaio is that the its under the ou - israel which unfortunately, for a very long time was in a very sorry state. to the point where the ou in america had to send somebody to israel to see what on earth was happening. (i actually heard first hand from a retaurant owner about all the "shtick" the management was pulling while r' luban was visiting to pull the wool over his eyes.) a lot has been written about it , see jerusalem kosher news by yechiel spira. anyways there was a change in management but according to some in the know it might not be up to par just yet, so caveat emptor. speak to somebody who knows something in kashrus to advise you, not someone who says about hashgachos in eretz yisrael "its all politics"

chilling at the kosel?
I know it sounds funny, but after davening etc... I loved sitting there in the evening on the benches in the back taking in the view of the kosel lit up and just schmoozing or "chilling"... there is just something about it ;D

Well if you are into chilling, try the Zupnick Mikva on Rechov Strauss, ideally erev yom kippur after chatsos.

I actually know a guy that went there, and lived to talk about it......

What do you like at each place?
Sheyan- You must try their cocktails... Very different! Also their coconut pasta... delicious! And for dessert they have a chocolate-peanut butter mousse- Heaven.... As for entrees, they're all equally as good so I would recommend going with a few people and sampling a little of each....

Go to Papagayo in Talpiot
It has a mehadrin hechsher and is unreal. Their meats beat alot of american fancy restaurants.
For 179 you get all you can eat. They will serve you 7 diffrent type of meats (2 amazing steaks) after you tried all 7 you can tell them which ones you liked and have as much as you want. Its really amazing. Forget about el gaucho in Ramat Gan, this is the real deal!!!

Is it considered mehadrin?

my experience of the cocktails were quite the opposite. overpriced and not good. .....and i hope heaven is a lot better than a blah peanut butter mousse. i guesss to each their own.

Vienna has Milk & Honey a GREAT dairy restaurant

Rome has several Meat and Milhig places

London has serveral Meat & Milhig as well

ok not 5* but way better then simply some hot kosher food, really decent

I wasn't talking about the amount of places or heap size on the plate.
I was talking about the taste. You have in Paris, London, and Antwerp, some very good places.

Frankly speaking, I don't need the top of the top, I love fast food, but in the USA, the food tastes artificial (not sure how to explain it otherwise)

Nope not at all, however if you remove those so called 5* Kosher restaurants, then these I mentioned I feel are alot beter then what youd have in the US

as SuperFlyer put it so well, its not what you see or how nice the place looks but how does the food taste. As for Milk & Honey in Vienna , I happened to have liked their their Italian food much better then what I had in Rome, Pizza wise

im wondering in how many restaurants youve eaten in the states to make such a blanket statement. im assuming you havent eaten in the fine dining establishments if you say it tastes artificial.
