Is it safe?
There is a setting that keeps you away from PA controlled areas.

There have been stories of people following Waze and ending up in dangerous areas.

I suggest using Waze, but not blindly. Review the route before you start out(maybe with an Israeli) and keep your eyes open.

Does anyone know of a nice pool (preferably hotel) in the Mamilla area that allow the public to pay for access, daily and monthly?

And a recommendation for a tour guide for a young-ish family (oldest kid 10)?

TIA!

Some of the hotels there (like the crown plaza) offer spa access or health club deals always on Groupon.

6 month passport rule
« Reply #8873 on: May 30, 2017, 12:54:30 AM »
I was hoping someone might have experience with this:
My daughter is going on an Israel summer trip. Her US passport will expire about 5.5 months after her scheduled return date from Israel back to the USA. She holds a valid non-expiring Israeli passport which she will use to enter and leave Israel. My understanding is that:
A) the 6 month rule is not a USA rule but is a rule that foreign countries have to prevent a visitor overstaying their planned trip and not being able to reenter their passport country because their passport has expired
B) since my daughter has an Israeli passport, her US passport will not be an issue for Israel as she can stay in Israel for as long as she likes as an Israeli citizen
C) we therefore have nothing to worry about with her travelling with that US passport
I thank you in advance for any information that you can share on this topic.

All correct.
On NYC-TLV she uses her Israeli passport
exTLV she uses US passport but does not need 6 months validity

Make sure she won't have an issue leaving Israel due to army draft

Beautiful--thank you! And thanks for the Israeli draft reminder. Yes, we took care of that at the Israeli consulate.

Won't they ask for her US passport when leaving the US?

I still don't think it's a problem- but just saying.

I am looking for a place in Jerusalem where three people can sit and meet for several hours without being rushed to leave. Needs to have wifi access and fairly quiet. Can be a hotel, cafe etc.  place where we could get lunch also while meeting would be a plus.  Any suggestions?
