You sure?
Unless something changed recently, they have a "mehuderet" which is basically mehadrin light with no mashgiach. I don't believe the meat is glatt, but didn't check it out personally

Banais waterfall and Nimrods fortress. Not too much hiking though.
Those are under consideration, but that's literally the farthest north you can get. We'll be based out of Tzfas for those few days, which means about an hour to get to those sites. It's still a possibility, but we were hoping for some other options.

ETA: Also, how is it in the dead of the summer? I assume what with the no rain, the actual flow is pretty weak.

Anybody know if The Majrase is doable with a baby carrier and/or relatively short children? Can't remember how high the water gets.

Cool, will have to try it out.
Later this month if it happens.

Need some suggestions for kids activities, can be anywhere in the country :)
Small selection from the list I've been compiling for our trip this summer:

Day trip to ein gedi/dead sea/masada.
Kfar Chabad esrog orchard (Kfar Chabad)
Israeli Children's Museum (Cholon) - including acclaimed Dialogue in the Dark "blind museum:
Aqua Kef (Tiverya) - floating water park
Shofar Factory (Galil)
De Karina Chocolate (Galil) - tour and kids workshop

If only the experience would be as good as the site...

I dont know your experience. She catered one if my kids brissim and did a great job. Ive heard that ordered meals are very good as well (but no personal experience)

So its not a situation where the Israelis get a better deal than the Americans. So do you now agree that it's a myth?

Myth in the sense that if an american actually socialized with israelis they would get the same price. Yes its a myth. However gemerally americans pay more and willingly get ripped off much more than israelis because they dont know how to...in this country. Heck , the fact that eshkolet is still around and pyup looks like its pumping millions on paran says it all.

You're the first I've ever heard complain about them..

You mean the food?  Service?  You're the first I've ever heard complain about them..
All. I did a 3-day event and it was horrific
A. Only had enough food when I ordered 15 extra portions.
B. Never emailed anything spent weeks on phone tag, never calling back.
C. Meals came unprepared
D. For the big event which she supplied waiters for she asked for extra manpower even after I asked her to come look at the venue first to see how much time she needs. She refused.
E. She tacked on some fees that were not discussed beforehand
Among other issues

I had a very positive experience.  Yours might have been an anomaly.

Mehuderet (not to be confused with "Mehadrin") is basically worthless. Don't eat there unless you would be comfortable with plain Rabanut.

"You know why pizza stores in America don't have rotev?"
"Cause their pizza doesn't need it to taste good"
The rotev is the worst part of the pizza. It would be easier to cover up with decent ketchup. The rotev brings out the fullness of the inferiority.

Ein Gedi
http://www.parks.org.il/ParksAndReserves/enGedi/Documents/brochureEn.pdf

National Parks site doesn't have a map on the Nachal Amud page. But that trail is part of the Shvil Yisrael, and you can see it marked on google maps as Israel National Trail (https://goo.gl/maps/Xr9rDWw5e9D2).

R Moishebatchy, can you explain? seems only difference (if they memorialize what their policies are, i.e. chalak, and bishul yisroel) is not a 24/7 mashgiach, but they check unexpectedly, no? why is that the same as plain rabbanut?

Depends which rotev. Some are great
