Apparently they are both Rabbanut Mehuderet. Is that same as Mehadrin? I would want something on the Mehadrin level.
No need to answer but I'm curious why you want something on the "mehadrin" level.
Do you know anything about any of the different types? Anything at all about their standards? Have a Rav in Israel who knows them well who told you Mehadrin is good but not less?

I don't think everyone in Israel who eats Rabanut is probably eating treif.
Maybe not. But definitely eating a large stew of kulos.
I'm not who you think I am.

Has a Rav in Israel who knows them well who told you Mehadrin is good but not less?
A leading, respectable litvsh Rav, who's been looking deep into kashrus in Israel for the past few years, due to the massive lack of knowledge of what's actually good and what's not, says basically what I stated above.

I'm not who you think I am.

I’m aiming at matching the level I eat here which is Glatt Kosher and with what I believe is a reliable hashgocha, such as OU. I really do not know much in response to your questions. Once upon a time when I visited my kids in Yeshiva in EY they set the Mehadrin standard which I continued to follow.

Post Pesach Update for my upcoming trip:

What, in your opinion, are the best restaurants in Yerushalayim for a nice dinner?
And the best for a dairy or pareve lunch?

Thanks!

Hi all, would appreciate any help anyone would offer on this.
Planning a trip with my 14 year old son for a week after Shavuos (belated Bar mitzva gift). Will be based in Yerushalayim, but want to give him a good time from the whole country, a little nervous about driving there but will if I have to. Prefer to not sleep over outside Yerushalayim, so looking more for day trips.
Any trip ideas of stuff you may have done with that age that were really can't miss?
He (and definitely his out of shape father  ;D) not really the athletic type for long hikes and such. TIA!

Up north is great but needs an overnight at least. To get started, the Palmach museum, The blind museum, The deaf museum. The virtual reality by the kosel is short but very nice.
